What is Ceroc?

Ceroc is the fastest growing partner dance organisation in the country with 150 nights running across the UK and over 50,000 people regularly dancing nationwide.

At Ceroc you will learn a modern jive dance; a fusion of Salsa and Swing without the complicated footwork. It is a social, fun and accessible night and you can dance to a wide range of music from 40's Swing right up to today's chart toppers. You don't have to come with a partner and you don't need to book a course - just turn up and join in. It is also a fantastic way to keep fit, so if you are bored by the gym, give Ceroc a try and dance the pounds off.

Evenings usually start with a Beginners' class, then for those comfortable with the basic moves, an Improvers' lesson. After that the DJ plays great music, so you are free to dance with whoever you like, practice your moves and develop your style - we call this the Freestyle section.

How it all began

Devised from a casual French Rock 'n' Roll and a simplified form of Jitterbug, Ceroc was initially developed for a one off fun night, in the early 1980s. 80 people attended that night... 3 months later word had spread and there were more than 700 people trying to get into the tightly packed London hall. Rumour has it that a young Diana Spencer attended, the year before she married Prince Charles.

Over the next 10 years, Ceroc evolved from a hobby to a business. 1991 marked the founding of Ceroc Enterprises ltd, the start of the first Ceroc franchise in Norwich and the first official Teacher Training Course.

Ceroc Today

Ceroc now operates in 9 countries across 4 continents and has over 300,000 attendees a year in the UK alone. We also run Ceroc Dance Holidays and the annual National Ceroc Dance Championships, which attracts over 1,500 participants.
