What is Ceroc?
Ceroc is a dance organisation teaching a dance that is a cross between Salsa and Jive without the complicated footwork.
Do I need to come with a partner?
No, at Ceroc we change partners more frequently than the music tracks, so just turn up and you could dance with up to 30 people in an evening.
Do I need to book?
No, just turn up. There is no course to book, and the beginners' class is suitable for first timers every week.
What should I wear?
You don't need special dance clothes - just what you are comfortable in. It can get quite warm, so it's a good idea to bring a change of top, and depending on how energetic you are, perhaps a towel.
What about footwear?
Something comfortable that you can spin in. Trainers can be a bit sticky and backless shoes are likely to come off your feet. Apart from that anything goes.
What sort of music is played at a Ceroc night?
Any style of music is fine for Ceroc - it's just a question of tempo. We play music from 40's swing through to today's chart toppers.
When can I join in the Improvers' class?
Once you are comfortable with the beginners' moves, give the Improvers a try. This usually takes around 6 classes.
How can I improve quickly?
Workshops are a great way to give your dancing a kick start. They are 4-hour intensive classes held on weekends. Numbers are limited to 20, so you get much more individual tuition and tips that are specific to you.
Do I have to become a member?
Yes, but the £2 is a one off payment that lasts a lifetime and is valid at all Ceroc venues here and abroad.
