Workshops

Whether you are a beginner wanting to fast track, or an Improver wanting to move on from a 'plateau', our workshops are a great kick start. They are intensive 4-hour classes held on a weekend with numbers limited to a maximum of 20 to allow for more personal tuition. You don't have to book with a partner, but we try to ensure that the male/female balance is equal.

How much experience?None required. Who's it for?Dancers wanting a kick start and wanting to learn good techniqueDancers who are comfortable with the beginners moves who want a lift up to the next level. Dancers struggling with the Improvers' classDancers wanting to learn a selection of Intermediate moves to enhance their repertoire.
What will I learn?Ceroc Essentials, 8-10 beginners' moves at each workshop, how to link the moves, spinning techniques, freestyle help. Each is the equivalent of about 6 beginners' classesA selection of basic Improvers' moves based on beginners' moves. Lead/follow tips, ironing out of bad habits in beginners' movesUp to 16 of the standard Improvers' moves at each workshop in detail, focussing particularly on how to lead them clearly.
What are the benefits?After the workshop you will have a core repertoire of beginners' moves and will be ready to join fully in freestyle in the regular Ceroc evenings.You will have more confidence with freestyle and will be able to tackle the Intermediate class with confidence.You will have a core repertoire of Improvers' moves to add to your own for confident freestyling. You will find it easier to pick up and develop moves.
What next?Try the Improvers' class and make sure you practice freestyling. Try a Beginners' Plus workshopMake sure you participate in the Improvers' class and ask more advanced dancers to dance! Consider an Intermediate workshopConsolidate what you know and build up your repertoire week by week. Freestyle as much as possible. Look out for any Style workshops.
